Year ends are used to assess a company’s annual profit, loss and performance within a 12-month period. It represents the closing off of a company’s accounts for their business year. The tax year that the South African government uses is from 1 March to 28 February, making February the most commonly used financial year end month. However, you are free to choose your preferred month throughout any of the twelve months.
